I quit planting Burning Bush when I found a better alternative. Itea 'Little Henry' (common name Little Henry Sweetspire) is a wonderful substitute for Burning Bush.  The fall color is every bit as intense but this plant has a smaller size AND white bottlebrush flowers in spring.
